Play

Let them enjoy an adventurous soft play session at The Hen House

From a very early age it is through play that children learn to engage with the world around them. Play allows children to use their creativity and develop their imagination, dexterity as well as their physical, cognitive and emotional strength.

We have a designated baby softplay area with mini ball pond, rocker, soft bricks, mirrors and animal heads all set within a cushioned walled area to keep the little ones in and the bigger ones out!

For walkers and beyond we have our farmyard soft play structure that features a double cow print slide, sliders, spinners, climbers, nets and view points as well as den like areas and interactive wall games.

For those with a need for speed our ride on cars can be scooted around and for the mini-me’s who love to role play our trolleys, toy kitchen and pushchairs will ignite their imaginations.

Eat & Drink

Fuel your fun with fresh food and delicious drinks for kids and adults.

We take food and drink seriously at The Hen House. We’ve put a lot of thought into what our customers want. We know some of you will be looking for a freshly blitzed green juice whilst others will be in need of a large slice of cake!

Wraparound Childcare

Offering breakfast and afterschool clubs for local primary children

As mothers ourselves we know how important it is to make the right childcare choices for your family. We pride ourselves on offering parents a dependable and caring environment for your children to flourish.

Family-Friendly Facilities

An accessible venue in the centre of Haslemere town.

Our space is completely wheelchair and pushchair accessible.

We have disabled toilet and spacious baby changing facilities. Both of our toilets include a step to help children reach the tap and toilet seats to help with toilet training.

We know it’s easy to forget the wipes, nappies, bibs or formula so if you need anything whilst you’re with us, please let a member of staff know and we’ll provide it free of charge.

We’re happy to heat up food for under 1’s. We ask that children over 1 eat from our menu. We’re well practiced in catering for allergies or fussy eaters so if you need to tweak our dishes, just ask! Due to allergies, we cannot allow food purchased outside our cafe on to our premises.

Our customer Wi-Fi and use of our power outlets is completely free and without restrictions. Please just watch your cables and keep them out of the way of children. We cannot be held responsible for any damage to your equipment whilst you’re on the premises.

Parties

Celebrate your child’s birthday at The Hen House.

We pride ourselves on hosting memorable, knock-out parties for your most special humans! We can tailor make our parties to your exact requirements, just let us know what you need and our party planner will help make your dreams a reality. We can take care of everything from providing invitations, to packing party bags, or choosing the playlist.

You can download and print our blue invitations here, pink invitations here or our multicoloured invitations here.

Our parties run for two hours. Our staff will help you set up, welcome your guests, serve drinks and food and tidy up all of the mess afterwards! The price includes all standard party food plus your birthday cake! Up to 28 children allowed.

Please note you will only be able to arrive 10 mins before your party as we’ll be cleaning and getting the place ship shape ready for you and your guests. We kindly ask that you leave promptly at the end of your two hours. Parties of 3 hours or more can be arranged by special request and incur an additional charge.

Starts from £350

The closest parking is the Waitrose car park which is access off of Haslemere High Street by turning left just before Brewers decorating shop. Alternatively, Chestnut Avenue and Tanner’s Lane car parks are both located within a 5-minute walk and are cheaper.

How do I find your entrance?

Our front entrance faces into the Waitrose car park. You won’t be able to access us from Lower Street so please go down the little ramp by the side of Meercuts barbers and we’re half way down the ramp on the left hand side, in between The Hair Chair and Fired Earth.

How much is it and how long can I stay?

We offer three 60 minute slots and two 90 minute slots everyday.

Babies: (6m-11m) £6.55 – 60 mins, £8.75 – 90 mins

Adults: £1.50 – 60 mins, £1.75 – 90 mins

If you’re not ready to leave you can extend your session. Just ask one of the team.

If you visit often, membership might be the most cost effective way to play.

I have complicated dietary requirements please can I bring my own food?

No, it wouldn’t be fair to follow one rule for one and one rule for another.

If you’re concerned, we recommend contacting us before your visit to talk through your options.

Why can’t I bring my own food?

Health and Safety is absolutely paramount at The Hen House and have a responsibility to our customers to ensure we know what food products are on the premises at all times. We pride ourselves on being a nut free environment and in order to make this claim we need to monitor what comes onto the premises.

Added to this, The Hen House is situated in a convenient, town centre location which means rent and rates are very high and margins very tight. We try our best to keep The Hen House affordable to all, but this relies on us making sales in in all parts of our business including the coffee shop.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring socks for you and your children, they are required to enter our soft play.

Why do I have to pay for my baby?

We appreciate that babies will interact less with the soft play equipment and that’s why they pay less to enter and are free when visiting with a sibling paying full price. However, our designated baby area and baby changing facilities cost money to maintain. We rely on café sales in order to keep our soft play operating and babies tend not to eat from our café so their entry costs contribute a little towards this.  Although tiny themselves they tend to come with a lot of stuff which takes up room which could be used by older children and therefore we feel it’s only fair to charge for their entry.

It may work out more cost effective for you to sign up to our membership packages. Baby memberships start from £20/month and includes unlimited entry. Find our more about memberships on our Book Now page.
